An Introduction to Slot Games

Slot machine games are possibly the most favoured games to enjoy at casinos. On any night, expect most of the machines to be filled with eager players. They come in a good selection of wagering levels; some only cost five cents a spin and others can cost as much as twenty dollars a spin. Although slot games are a gambling tool, a lot of people are intimidated by the high-dollar table games and like the entertainment and exhilaration of a good one arm bandit.

The 1st mechanical slot machine was assembled in Eighteen Ninety Five and was called the "Liberty Bell." Invented by a California machinist, the earliest slot games had three reels with a cracked Liberty Bell, diamonds, hearts, and spades painted on each. Before this invention, the name "slot machines" was employed to describe several kinds of vending machines.

The first real widespread use of one armed bandits in US betting houses is attributed to the Flamingo Hotel, Vegas somewhere around 1940. The owner of the betting house had originally thought the machines would be amazing to intrigue bored wives of some of the largest whales of the betting house. Little did he know that slot machines would be an enjoyable game for almost everyone and that the appeal would extend beyond the the bored wives. Now, it is said, the slots comprise over two-thirds of all revenue generated by U.S. brick and mortar casinos.

The slots certainly have a rich history. From the small creation of the mid-19th century to the multi-million dollar business of today, the slots will continue to develop in popularity.
